Will I need an embassy visit, or is the application fully online?
Simple answer
Some visas are fully online; others need a visa application centre or embassy appointment for biometrics, originals, or an interview. The channel is set by the destination for your nationality and product.
What it means
“Online application” can still mean you later attend for fingerprints. “Embassy visit” does not always mean the diplomat interviews you personally — it may be a commercial visa centre.
