A temporary residence card (TRC) replaces repeated visas for spouses and children under 18 of qualifying foreign residents, and family members of Vietnamese citizens (symbol TT). It carries the same symbol as the visa and lasts up to 3 years, and never beyond the passport. The sponsor applies to the Immigration Department.

- What you need to show
- TT eligibility: spouse or children under 18 of foreigners holding LV1, LV2, LS, ĐT1–ĐT3, NN1, NN2, DH, PV1, LĐ1, LĐ2 (and UĐ1/UĐ2 from 1 Jul 2026 under Law 118/2025/QH15) or parent, spouse or child of a Vietnamese citizen. TRC then considered under Art. 36 eligible symbols including TT.
