What is proof of funds?
Simple answer
Proof of funds is evidence that you can support yourself (and any dependants) for the stay you are requesting, in the form the destination asks for — often bank statements, but not always only that.
What it means
Authorities want to see a realistic financial picture for your purpose of stay. Large last-minute deposits without explanation can raise questions on some products.
What you may need to do
Provide statements covering the period and accounts named in the checklist. Explain large movements if asked. Do not submit altered statements.
Country / visa warning
Minimum amounts, accepted currencies, and statement formats differ widely by country and visa type. There is no single ASEAN figure.
Next action
Check the financial line on your specific visa checklist — then prepare statements that match that wording.
