The Professional Visitor Pass – Expert lets Malaysian government agencies and companies bring in foreign technical experts for up to 12 months. Categories are technical experts, research, practical or industrial training, supported volunteers, and supported exhibition participants. For expert transfer and research, the salary must be paid by the employer abroad. Spouses, dependants and domestic helpers cannot get long-term passes. Applications in Sabah and Sarawak go to a state committee.
