- What you need to show
- Offer/acceptance at an authorised institution EMGS academic screening and eVAL pathway for higher education passport validity at least 18 months (IMI overview).
- Minimum age
- Aged 3 and above (IMI Student Pass overview).
- Work
- Part-time work only where permitted: UA/IPTS students may work ≤20 hours/week at approved venues (restaurants, petrol stations, mini markets, hotels, campus) — not for language/skills centres. Dependants of students are not allowed to work.
- Education
- Enrolment/acceptance at a MOHA-authorised institution; EMGS screening for higher education.
- Sponsor
- Institution-mediated pathway (EMGS/STARS → Immigration Student Pass Unit for higher education; schools via Student Pass Unit).
- Other conditions
- Dependants (higher education): only for Master’s/PhD holders — spouse biological/step/adopted children under 18 disabled children biological parents parents-in-law. Visa-required nationals take SEV via malaysiavisa before entry
